Chicago

The 2015 World Computer Bridge Championship will be held from August 10-15 in Chicago.

Over the years major bridge programs from all over the world have participated in the annual World Computer Bridge Championships. After its debut in 2000 Jack dominated the championship winning the title in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. In 2005 and 2008 Jack won the Round Robin but lost the final to WBridge5.
After releasing Jack 6 in 2014 the Jack team took a pause from the championship.

This year the Jack team returns to the championship. While lead programmer Hans Kuijf supports the team from the homebase, team members Wim Heemskerk and Martin Pattenier will operate the program on site in Chicago.

For the Championship the programs will play a round robin. The programs meet in 32 board matches with a 20 VP international scale. The four top finishers will then play in a knockout format starting with a 64-deal semi-final.

The programs competing are:

Jack- Hans Kuijf / Wim Heemskerk, The Netherlands
Shark Bridge- Jonh Norris, Denmark
Micro Bridge- Tomio and Yumiko Uchida, Japan
WBridge5- Yves Costel, France
Bridge Baron- Stephen Smith / Stephen Rosenfeld / Jonathan Gerth, United States
Q-Plus Bridge- Hans Leber, Germany
RoboBridge- Job Scheffers, The Netherlands
Goto Bridge- Alexis Maugat and Jérôme Rombaut, France

On the website of the organiser of the WC computer bridge you will be kept posted as the tournament progresses.
