At Computer Bridge, a Dutch Team Wins

This is moving day at the world bridge championships. The Open, Women's, Senior and Imp Pairs have entered their final stages. The Senior Pairs ends on Friday, the other three events on Saturday.

Yesterday the World Computer-Bridge Championship concluded with an emphatic victory by Jack, from the Netherlands.

The other six entries were Blue Chip Bridge from Britain, Bridge Baron from the United States, Micro Bridge from Japan, Q-Plus Bridge from Germany, WBridge5 from France and Shark Bridge from Denmark.

In the round-robin qualifying stage, Jack won all six of its matches. In the semifinals, Jack beat Q-Plus Bridge by 239 international match points to 41, and Micro Bridge defeated WBridge5 by 141-133. Jack triumphed in the final by 217-54. This is Jack's fifth win in six years. Last year, in Estoril, Portugal, Jack lost in the final to WBridge5.

Clearly, Jack is a chip above the field.
